Halloween started off with a bang in L5P. Local Blues act The Nonessentials
threw it down Sunday morning at Bakers Cafe.
Just before the show inside we caught the boys outside on the street
kickin' it up New Orlean's style. Listen to a cut off their current
release
Take You For A Ride !
1. Take Me For A Ride
get real.

The Nonessentials formed a couple of years ago in the face
of a federal budget crisis (thanks, Newt!). Led and driven by John
Henry Hankinson, (lead vocals and harp), the band is inspired
by a variety of influences. Roots players like Willie Dixon and the
founding fathers of Blues. Original tunes from John, as well as from
Dave Moore (guitar and vocals ) and Rich Hammond (guitar
and vocals) helps to give the traditional blues the Nonessential treatment.
David Harbin anchors the band from the drum throne, provides
technical support and recording engineer duties, Bass player and Beatlefan
Rick Glover (odd head-wear and silly walks ) gives bottom as
well as a little comedic relief.
The track here was recorded at
HoneyHouse Studios
Nashville TN.
We hope you enjoy this tune as you let
The Nonessentials ... take you for a ride !
Thank for listening - John, Dave, Rich, David and Rick.
We are the Nonessentials , ... and we truly are!
