A Journey Into
Self Knowledge
Saleem

It is no accident that the city of Atlanta is located directly on a latitudinal line with the pyramids of Giza in Egypt.

For in Little Five- Points at a place called Freemarket, is a booth
filled with ancient paintings, books, timelines, video tapes, music,
and candles, that are sending out divinely unifying light vibrations
and frequencies that can cause a resting of the spirit which is
related to that which occurs through an understanding of the
balancing of the scales, where the feather of truth or (love) is
weighed against the heart (mind) in the "Book of the Coming Forth
by Day" or so-called "Book of the Dead".

Such kindred brothers and sisters meet daily between 1 p.m. and
6 p.m. to share meditation with each other as we move into the 21st century towards a rebirth of culture that transcends thought as we have known it to be through a conditioning that has outlived its usefulness.

Basic to this understanding is the fact that each one must come to
see the necessity for a reverse approach to life in which a choiceless silencing of habitual psychological thought comes about to allow the hearing of the inner voice of cosmic consciousness. This new state
of mind is not goal orientated, it is a state of being,, not a becoming.

Time or space do not exist here, there is only creativity which is discovered in the only way possible, which is in relationship that is blissful or ecstasy in its fulfillment of the whole.

So, the partial use of thought is ended through an alert choiceless awareness of the struggle or conflict that we normally experience.
This awareness must be judgeless, as seen by the inner voice.
No one but ourselves can cure the illness of the body or mind.

It is a humbling experience, and few seek to travel on such a journey where love is constant, instead of material advancement. Thus, as it happens in the initiation ceremonies of all ancient cultures, the tree
and the person become one, and all division ceases.

This is selfknowledge.

Some History

Thirty years ago, Saleem, whose name was Walter at the time, came upon a book by J. Krishnamurti called "The First and Last Freedom."

It spoke to me of a negative approach to self-knowledge in which the goal of understanding was not, contained in an idea or theory far away, but within myself.

His words awakened my memory of what I already knew, but had kept hidden behind a proud image of the self, who was to maintain control over what one came to understand
was an illusion.

Thus, the journey of discovering the various facets of the mind began. At the time I knew almost nothing of ancient Egyptian history, which two and half years began to reveal the same inner voice of cosmic consciousness that Krishnamurti, was talking about.

As I filled the gaps of a lack of understanding of who I really was, I was introduced again to a love of drawing with a pencil, and so I began to paint small pictures that the reading of Egyptian writing inspired, from many sources, especially from the early nineteen century.

What happen amazed me, as the tears of sorrow began to be transformed into the ecstasy of bliss which forced me to share with others.

Being a retired school teacher relieved me from financial worries which allowed time and energy to explode into creativity.
