Almost a decade ago, on the comparatively small campus of Paine College in Augusta GA, a program was launched that would one day raise the stakes in the Augusta Music Scene. There at Paine a freshman b-boy arrival from San Diego CA named Kofi met a lieutenant in the Augusta Mosque of the Nation of Islam named Kelvin X. The grounds they met on were the mutual concern about the plight of African people, and the determination to address the problem and influence change through the very powerful medium of music. In the years following, they could as just as easily be found opening up a city wide lecture by internationally known black scholars, as they could be found "rocking the mike" at a step show or at a local hot spot on ladies night. The formula: A thorough blend of Afro-Caribbean lingo and rhythms with straight-ahead Jazz rifts and "southern preacheristic" soulful delivery. This unique combination produced underground hits such as; Definition of an Angel and In the Name of Allah, to name a few.

Well, as time changes, man evolves and grows. As man evolves and grows, his creative expression usually takes the same course. Though the two original members are still in touch, the personnel of the immediate family have changed. Of the two original members, Ras Kofi Kwayana has continued the Black Ingels legacy and has teamed up with two equally committed brothers who share the vision. So now the insets of today and tomorrow are:

Ras Marcus Tafari: Born and raised in the "dirty south", Covington Georgia.
Raised in the deep southern griot tradition. A seventh generation minister of FIRE. A vocalist, musician, spoken word visionary, producer specializing in the drum. CEO of Black Life
production.

N. Fekade Selassie: Born in Virginia and raised in the ghetto by "Black Guerillas" suffering from Diaspora. Child prodigy, Extroverted producer. This multi-instrumentalist has been the production backbone of many Reggae, Jazz, and Underground Hip-Hop acts including Kebra Negast, Satta Massagana, and Confrontation to name a few.

Ras Kofi Kwayana: Born in Boxton, Guyana, South America,
Vocalist, Producer, Lyric Composer, Percussionist and D.J with top notch training and experience in several musical art forms including Hip Hop, Reggae, and Orthodox African chanting. Member of the Internationally-acclaimed
Musical Ark of The Covenant Sound System.

The purpose: To gravitate men and people of the world to a higher level of existence through positive word sound and power ... To administer truth without compromise, by producing quality music for the listening pleasure of the whole planet!!!

As their music clearly shows, the Black Ingels work extensively with a talented and committed extended family of musicians, vocalists and DYs for the purpose of recording and for their powerful live performances. These notable musicians include Dawtas Of H.I.M., Ras Reggie D, and Atlanta radio station WRFG 89.3 F.M's own D.J Reality. They specialize in quality Hip-Hop and Reggae music for the Nation, and are just as effective performing at REGGAE festivals as they are in underground clubs in the ghetto.

WARNING: THIS MUSIC COULD CAUSE SERIOUS HEAD NODDING. PLEASE WEAR A NECK BRACE!!!
